A seven-room guesthouse on an island in the Hardangerfjord, reached by two ferries a day. Open May to September. The next boat leaves Norheimsund at 07:10.
There is no road to Halvøy. The 07:10 brings you, the 16:40 takes you back, and the island is yours in between.
Seven rooms, one long table, a wood-fired sauna at the end of the pier, and the glacier across the water.

The Folgefonna glacier above the fjord, photographed around 1897. On a clear evening you see its edge from the sauna steps.
Every room looks over water: east to the glacier, west to the open fjord, south to the falls.
